From right to left we have Conrader, yours truly, midengineer formerly known as mr2tastic, and My Buick is Too A Real Muscle car.

Much fun was had. Everyone got a turn in the Sonic, with Buick using his turn to learn the wonders of three pedal driving. I got another chance to drive a FiST...it's a great driving car. As a whole package I still prefer my Sonic :P

Your LeSabre is awesome. Mine had a brown pinstripe to go with the Grandma Gold exterior. Best roadtrip car I've ever been in.

That's exactly how mine was originally painted. I could see the old pinstripe through the matte black paint so it's positioned *perfectly*

I like the fact the FiST is next to the Sonic. Shame Jayhawk's isn't what a stock one drives like. then it'd be a good rivalry!

Stock the Sonic doesn't match up to the Fiesta all that well. I can turn off the tune though, which gives a good comparison of power.

With what I've done to the Sonic it matches well in some categories, but performance wise the Fiesta is better. It's a bit faster and it handles more precisely. That's not a knock on the Sonic, especially considering it's came out before the FiST existed and costs less, but I'm not going to lie and say the Sonic is as dynamically good as the Fiesta. I do think it looks better and I prefer the interior, it feels more spacious, but if someone asked me for a recommendation for a sporty hatchback I'd tell them to buy the FiST, but consider the Sonic before finalizing the deal.

Hopefully Chevy puts a bigger motor in the next Sonic RS

GM has motors they could use. There's a 1.6L turbo in the Corsa VXR. Take that motor, give the suspension an even firmer upgrade, add a short throw shifter and some more supportive seats and the Sonic SS would kick ass.
